Overview

Arrow

The Loon is the answer to the question “Does anyone make a lightweight fishing kayak?” At 13’ 6”, 30” wide and only 28lbs. the loon is the perfect size and weight for multiple uses. From an easy paddle down a meandering stream, to an all day fishing experience on your favorite pond, river or lake. The Loon uses the same hull as our solo canoe line, the “Illusion”. With its sharp turning ability and significant stability, the Loon can be taken just about anywhere. Whether through a swamp to your favorite fishing hole or across a rocky portage trail to a secluded lake in the Canadian wilderness, the Loon will get you there.

The cockpit size is fully customizable, either as a regular sea kayak or a larger, more open cockpit for easier cargo packing and more room for the paddler. The deck height can also be customized to fit larger paddlers and more gear or lowered for lighter paddlers and a more streamlined craft. The rudder option greatly enhances the tracking and turning ability of this boat making it a good choice in rougher conditions. With the sail option this kayak can be a lot of fun when the wind kicks up.

Same appearance as TeXtreme with a silvery/gray color. Same stiffness but slightly heavier then light TeXtreme but stronger because of the Inegra blend. Backed up with Kevlar. Good option for lighter C-2s and Mid weight C-1s. The beautiful silver checkerboard appearance is stunning but is our priciest outer skin. May fuzz up a little when scratched and harder to patch. A glass skin reinforcing is recomended.
